Plant Physiology

Shortage of water can lead to plants developing water stress which can seriously affect growth and reduce crop yields.

Measurement of plant water status by the pressure vessel technique is the standard method used in research work.

The ELE digital plant water potential apparatus is lightweight and portable making it ideal for field and laboratory use. The large digital display can be frozen to provide precise readings. The standard gaskets will fit all plants with a leaf petiole of up to 6mm. Pressures of up to 30 atmospheres can be achieved in the chamber.

Carbon dioxide and compressed air pressure sources are available.
