Offering concrete testing laboratories new levels of quality and consistency, ELE International has launched the Accu-Tek Touch 250 Auto; an automatic compression testing machine, fully compliant with ASTM C39 and AASHTO T22 concrete testing standards. “This is an important announcement,” says ELE Managing Director Tony Power, “Not just because full automation will be a major advantage for concrete labs following ASTM and AASHTO standards*, but also because this marks the beginning of a new era for ELE.

“ELE has enjoyed a global reputation for quality and reliability for decades, and we intend to build on that by investing in product development so that our customers can benefit from the advantages provided by the latest technologies.

“The new Accu-Tek Touch 250 Auto exemplifies the benefits that we are now able to deliver. An intuitive touch-screen display improves the ease of use, and automation removes the potential for human error and inconsistencies between operators. In short, it helps our customers, and our customers’ customers, build confidence in concrete test results.”

The Accu-Tek Touch 250 Auto has a capacity of 250,000 lbf (kN or kgf options) and is delivered ready for testing 6” x 12” cylinders. However, a rapid-change platen system means that the operator can quickly and easily mount a wide range of optional accessories to the upper crosshead for cylinder, cube, and beam testing – including 2” (50 mm) cubes, 4” x 8” cylinders and beams. The machine is also able to test mortar cubes and concrete beams to ASTM C109 and C78.

Automatic sample loading is provided by a closed-loop microprocessor controlled hydraulic system, with automatic stress calculation. All test results come complete with the machine serial number, and load vs. time is plotted in real-time; demonstrating full compliance with the testing standard. Providing full traceability, this data can be stored for later use or for detailed analysis of the concrete production.
